And hey…if you’re like me and curious about every instrument - I found a great video demonstrating an enormous contrabass recorder like the one on the end. I recommend you listen with headphones, as when he plays the very low note, it reverberates through your head…very neat.

Hi opera people of the hellsite!
As I posted a couple of days ago, I am writing my Masters thesis on fluid sexuality in opera, and how that moves the souls of the members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and more specifically the way wlw view or relate to trouser roles. That is where I decided to zoom in, because seeing sapphic representation on trouser roles is where my love of opera mainly focuses and as a lesbian I feel I’m most qualified to talk about that particular aspect of it. That being said, I would also love to get different perspectives to shed a tiny bit of light wherever I can, so everyone of any orientation and identity who wants to talk to me about this topic, please! You are most welcome.
